in 1975, i was born.

i found school to be somewhat traumatic when i was young. i didn't like going and every time i saw the bus i started to cry.

i wanted to stay home and run around in the woods. it's not that i didn't enjoy learning...i just didn't like being cooped up.

as a little girl my family lived on a farm. collecting salamanders, making mud pies, drawing, and following my mother around were my favorite things to do. "stop following me and go do something constructive!" she would say. so i would go and doodle...or daydream.

in 1985 my parents moved us to maine. they were renovating a house. my brother and i helped a little. i missed the farm, but i soon learned to love living near the ocean.

when i was bigger, i went to college. i studied graphic design and graduated in 1997. i decided that working on a computer all the time wasn't for me. so i began to investigate other things. freelance design. illustration. fiber arts. i ran my own gallery and frame shop for a few years.

finally, i decided to focus on painting.

soon i met a great guy. and we liked each other a lot so we got married. he works on big ships.

now we live together in a tiny, brick bungalow on a little street in jacksonville, florida with our dog henry and our (super cute...i think) baby leo, who arrived in april of 2009.

sometimes it is funny being a "yankee" living in the south. but that's ok, because i like to laugh.

we do a lot of laughing. life is good.
